Hey Crew,
Wow, Summer is OVER!! I can't believe how fast it went. This summer was
filled with many fun events from team parties, tennis camp to the kids doing
the coin toss at the Countrywide Classic for Andy Roddick and Juan Martin Del
Potro. Of course we can't forget the tournament of the year NUTTS. Photos were sent
in an email. Thank you so much to my assistants this summer. I feel the kids
really took a huge leap in ability. A special thank you to Michealyn Straub
who took wonderful photos of the kids during the summer and made some great
posters! I still have a couple that have not been picked up yet. If you didn't
order yours, I am sure Michaelyn can put one together for you. A special
congratulations to crew members who accomplished some wonderful things this
spring/summer. Mike Rosett having child number two, Bailee Rad on
finishing law school and getting a job. Scott Williams and Leslie Lauten
for getting married. Julia Bruckner on winning CIF and getting accepted
and off to Berkley. Congratulations to Olivia Sweetman and Gevork Apikyan
who received the SFV JTT Sportsmanship Award. They recieved the award during the
Countrywide Classic and got to play on center court with touring pro Wayne Odesnik.
I am sure there are more that I am just spacing right now.
Not to fret, the fall is filled with fantastic and fun tennis events. Here is a
brief overview of what I have planned for the fall.
JUNIORS
Junior Afterschool Classes will start the week of September 8th. Classes are
filling so please let me know which class(es) your child will be attending to
insure a spot. The flyer and more class information can be found on my web site.
We will be participating in team tennis again this fall. Mindy and I will
also be putting together the advanced tournament traveling team. Look for future
emails with tournament schedule. If you are interested, let me know.
TEAM TENNIS
Adult doubles season will begin in the next weekend or so. The teams are forming
now. I will be captaining four teams; Men's 3.5 (6517465113), Men's 4.0 (6517465118),
Ladies 3.0 (6517465135) and Ladies 2.5 (6517465682). Jeri Howard will be
captaining a 3.5 ladies. To register for a team you need to go
to http://national.usta.com
with a current USTA number, the team number and a credit card. Go to the join a team
link with those numbers and follow the prompts. Home matches will be $15.00 and away
matches will be $10.00. I ask for a $60.00 deposit which will cover 2 home matches
and 3 away. At the end of the season, I will bill for the balance owed. You can
apply a credit balance to any future classes/events.

I will be offering a variety of drill classes throughout the week. The cost per

Thank you to everyone who participates in my tennis programs. I really really
enjoy my job and am finding it hard to believe that I have entered into year 20
of teaching and running events. I feel very lucky to still know and teach many
students who started with me over 17 years ago. I feel it is such a priviliage
to watch so many of you grow up and become wonderful adults and am looking forward
in teaching and watching the "next batch" of kids mature and become wonderful
tennis players and adults. Not to leave out the adults who started as adults!!
I am enjoying watching your games improve as well! :>)
Thanks, Nikki
